Robert (Bob) St. Peter

Bob came to the Sault Ste Marie area in 1962 from the Copper Country. He was assigned to the Kincheloe Air Force Base as a Food Supervisor by the Army Air Force Exchange Service. He remained at the base for approx. eight years. In 1968, he met and married Marylin Armstrong. They have two children; son Ben, and a daughter Amy who is deceased. Bob also worked for American Brands Corp for approx 4 years. Upon leaving that company, he was employed by Foodland in Sault Ste. Marie where he was a bookkeeper for 22 years and retired from the store when it closed. He is now self-employed in the Monument Business at home here in Dafter.

I have been on the Dafter Township for A LOT of years. As Trustee, I have other assignments also on the board. I am a part of the Recreation Board as well as the Zoning Board of Appeals. Both these assignments I take as very important for our community.

My feeling for the board is as follows; I believe we work well together as a group for the betterment of our township. We don't always agree on all information we discuss....however what is best for the residents of the township comes first.

In working for you the residents I just want what is best for the community and have a great place to live.

Frank Mongene

Frank is a lifetime resident of Dafter Township.  He has operated a farming operation in Dafter for the last 37 years and is currently operating a pheasant hunting preserve.  While farming, he had many careers in my life, such as, mechanic, logger, truck driver, heavy equipment operator and union representative.


I believe the union representative job has prepared me to be your advocate in the township. Some of my duties were to represent school employees in quasi legal matters, contract negotiations and maintenance, review budgets and make recommendations for various issues.
