There will be a meeting of the Election
Commission on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at
6:30 PM for the purpose of choosing
election inspectors for the August 6, 2024 Election.

of Dafter Township

Dafter was founded as a lumber settlement. It was given a post office named "Stevensburgh" in January 1879, with George Stevens as the first postmaster.

The name of the post office was changed to Dafter, after the township, in July 1893. It was a station on the Minneapolis, St. Paul & Sault Ste. Marie Railroad.

Public Accuracy Test for the
August 6, 2024 Election
has been scheduled Tuesday,
July 23, 2024 at 5:30 P.M. in the
Dafter Township Hall
2926 W. 10 Mile Rd
Dafter, Michigan

The Public Accuracy Test is conducted
to demonstrate that the computer
programming that will be used
to tabulate the votes cast at the
election counts the votes in
the manner prescribed by law.

DAFTER JURISDICTION PUBLIC NOTICE

Establishment of Early Voting Sites
Notice is hereby given by resolution of the local board under authority granted in Public Act 81
of 2023, that the location of the early voting site for the upcoming Presidential Primary will be
as follows:
Soo Township
639 W 3 ½ Mile Rd
Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783
All qualified electors in Dafter have the right to mark a ballot in a tabulator beginning the
second Saturday before an election and ending the Sunday before the election, and any
additional days prior to the second Saturday before an election that the local board designates.
Early voting will be available at the early voting site listed above for the following hours:
Saturday, February 17, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Sunday, February 18, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Monday, February 19, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Tuesday, February 20, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Wednesday, February 21, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Thursday, February 22, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Friday, February 23, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Saturday, February 24, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
Sunday, February 25, 2023, from 8 AM – 4 PM
